Do I need to be artistic to benefit from art therapy?

Not at all. Art therapy is about the creative process & the meaning we give to the shapes, not artistic skill. No prior art experience is necessary, and there is never any expectation to create "good" artwork. Creativity simply becomes another way to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a non threatening way

What ages do you work with?

I primarily work with children ages 6-12, teens 13-17, and young adults 18-25. I also provide parent consultations, supervision, and educational presentations.

I encourage Parent involvement and can vary depending on the age of the child and their individual needs. Collaboration with parents is often an important part of the therapeutic process, and we will discuss the level of involvement that feels most appropriate for your family.

How long are therapy sessions?

Accepted Answer

Session length may vary depending on the client's age, goals, and treatment needs. Each person learns and heals at their own pace within their own abilities. We'll discuss recommendations during your consultation.

Do you offer virtual art therapy sessions?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the service and client needs, virtual sessions may be available for anyone residing in the state of Texas and Virginia. Preferably ages 12 and up. Please reach out to discuss options and availability.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance coverage and payment options may change over time. Please contact me directly for the most current information regarding fees, insurance, and payment policies.

Can you support my child during a divorce?

Accepted Answer

In regards to Divorce cases, individual therapy appointments will be offered only after the final decree has already been signed by a judge. The therapist will need a copy of the decree AND consent from both parents, despite primary physical custody. However, Parent consulting services is a great alternative to support the child, if individual therapy for the child is not possible at this time. Please contact for more questions.

Do you provide LPC - only supervision?

At this time, my supervision services focus on art therapy provisionals  and professionals. If you are seeking LCP-specific supervision and completed a counseling only graduate program, I am happy to provide referrals to trusted colleagues.

Do you offer Art Therapy services in the Community?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I offer contract art therapy services for organizations, nonprofits, and community groups. That can include individual or group art therapy services in the greater Houston area.
